How long have you been in business?
This is our 13th year in business
What is your primary product or service?
We provide childcare programs year-round and a nature camp during summer vacation. We also provide preschool, elementary school, and after school care programs during the traditional school year (September through June). Our students range in age from 6 weeks to 7 years old.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I became a classroom teacher in 1986, and worked in both private and public schools for about 15 years. I completed a Masters in Administration and opened Cricket Hunt School in September 2001, but I have always been interested in education.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has long been the champion of developmental programs for all children. Our philosophy is rooted in Developmental Education which provides a framework for the presentation of an authentic, richly creative environment designed to engage and expand the minds of our students. We integrate our learning standards with interesting topics in science, mathematics, literacy, social sciences, movement and the arts. All of our students from infants to grade 2 receive instruction in music, french, art and movement. We believe in free play, block building, paint, playdough and outdoor recess!
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location on 40 Independence Drive in Freeport. Our programs are always expanding and developing.
